Who is Wael Shukha?

As a Camera and Steadicam Operator, Wael Shukha has almost twenty years of experience in film and television production, working with clients such as Marvel, HBO, Netflix, Sony, and many more. He has a strong lighting background, having worked as a gaffer for many years before becoming a camera operator.  This invaluable understanding of lighting has given him a very sought-after advantage, especially on second units, where time and again he has been trusted to deliver exactly what the DP wants.

Wael was drawn to cinema as a child, and knew at a very young age that he wanted to pursue a career in the creation of movies and television.  Born and raised in Israel, he emigrated to the U.S. after high school and received his lighting and camera education in Los Angeles.  His international background has also helped his understanding as an artist of a global audience.

In addition to his camera and lighting skills, Wael is a happily married man and proud dad of three kids.  He is also fluent in English, Arabic and Hebrew.

Wael is a member of the International Cinematographers Guild (IATSE Local 600) and the Steadicam Operator Association (SOA).

He also has a great sense of humor and looks amazingly cool in sunglasses.
